Role description
Along with the IT Area Lead and your fellow IT Chapter Leads you;
Collaborate within and across squads
You can collaborate within the squad on coding, architecture, continuous improvement, structured problem solving, agile way of working and/or any other way that adds value
You participate in DevOps rituals when needed (e.g. daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives & peer reviews)
You use your seniority to maximize individual and team performance
Motivate, coach, and evaluate performance of chapter members
Ensure engineers work and deliver according to our quality standards
Together with people in your environment, create the right ‘smell of the place’
Ensure development and evaluate performance of Chapter members
Support recruiting of talents (e.g. interview applicants)
Together with colleagues (engineers, chapter leads & Agile coach), determine the working methodology within your area of expertise, allocate specific knowledge/focus areas, set the standards and ensure it is executed correctly
Work with the relevant stakeholders on resource planning|
Create the environment for continuous feedback, coaching and mentoring of the Chapters
Support all chapter members with the required operational matters

Profile:
Experienced working in a complex, regulated environment such as a large financial institution
A seasoned Java engineer, knowledgeable about WebSphere but not married to it
Fluent in English speaking and writing and a good communicator in general
Seen and acknowledged by your colleagues as more than competent engineers.
Proven ability to bring out the best in people and drive the team forward
Experienced in both engineering and leadership roles in Agile teams
Great analytical skills and have a conceptual / architectural understanding
Experienced with test driven development & test automation
Growth mind-set and develop this in others
Able to bring all ideas/opinions to one conclusion to help make decisions
Up to date with new Technology and have a deep understanding of when to use it
Great story teller and able to adapt your style depending on your audience
Humble in approach and not afraid to be wrong
Proud of what they do and enjoy sharing this with your external network
Experienced in Agile / Scrum / DevOps projects
