For our client in Amsterdam we are looking for a Lead Automation Test Engineer (CI/CD).

IT Services (ITS) is responsible for the provision of information technology. While maintaining the systems to ensure the business is able to operate on a global basis without interruption, ITS also brings enhancements and improvements through the development of applications and technology to keep us at the forefront of the industry. ITS QA is responsible for software Quality Assurance within the software delivery lifecycle end-to-end, from requirements to implementation into production. This involves everything from definition of test strategies, plans, test coverage and quality gates, to working with third party suppliers to conduct functional and non-functional testing, managing user acceptance testing, to managing our testing toolset.

Job description:
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Lead Automation Test Engineer (CI/CD) to help us define, develop and implement a path for automating as much of our testing as possible. This will require creation of a test automation framework, choice of toolset and plan for integration into our evolving DevOps pipelines.
You will also have to consider how we change and manage our engagement with our existing Design, Build and Test External Service Provider (ESP) to achieve our aims.
This is a practical hands-on role and you will work closely with our DevOps team to implement the automation objectives.
You will also work closely with other functions both internally and with External Service Providers (ESP), you will report directly to the Test Manager.

Main responsibilities:
- Creation and maintenance of test automation strategy including integration of tools into our existing toolset.
- Integration of automation testing into our evolving DevOps pipelines.
- Developing, running and managing automated tests, including integration of test automation deliverables from External Service Providers.
- Work with External Service Providers to develop effective strategies and test plans, advise on test scenarios and approve test coverage using techniques such as requirements traceability matrices and risk based approaches.
- Definition and implementation of entry/exit criteria for quality assurance of ESP deliverables.
- Review/Approval of all integration, System and performance testing and/or test documentation for new and/or upgraded system functionality.
- Standard use of Incident/Change management tools to record Call Tickets, Incidents and support changes.
- Co-operation with co-workers to ensure cross application consistency.
- Adherence to our development standards to follow the product lifecycle.
- Take responsibility for their own personal development.
- Manage issues and risks, escalating in a timely way, keeps Test Manager informed on key developments/issues.
- Keep pace with latest testing and automation trends, practices, tools, techniques, tips and tricks to optimize test automation strategy and methodologies.
- Be willing and able to travel internationally if required.
- Be able to mentor, and educate others in the team as we transform.

Job requirements:
You have to able to communicate well since we are located in different locations (and willing to travel). If you also have good organisational skills, next to the technical skill. You can be the candidate we are looking for.

Technical expertise:
- Solid background in Software Test Automation including experience of relevant tooling (e.g. UFT, Selenium, Cucumber) with proven experience of automation design and implementation.
- Proven and experienced background in Software testing- methodology and practice ideally ISEB / ISTQB certification.
- Experience with performance testing including tools such as Microfocus Performance Centre, JMeter.
- Experience with static and dynamic security testing.
- Programming skills such as Selenium, Python, Java, C#, Perl, .NET, Ruby.
- Knowledge of SQL.
