What the unit is about
In this unit, students will investigate a number of successful events, both large and small, and use this research to assess the feasibility of events to plan and run yourself. Examples could range from organising meetings, product launches, exhibitions, promotions, charity events, team-building events and staff development, to a full-scale conference. Students chosen event will be carefully planned, demonstrating your ability to use planning tools.
Students will then stage the event, testing the effectiveness of your planning. This will require you to ‘think on your feet’, deal with financial and security issues, liaise with suppliers and venue personnel, and utilise your problem-solving skills. Afterwards students will evaluate the success of the event. To complete the assessment task within this unit, students will need to draw on their learning from across your programme. The event will be in simulation

Who we're looking for
We are looking for a lecturer who can contribute the necessary practical experience to inspire our full-time students (aged 16 to 21) and part-time students (21+).
The unit is in English. It is therefore necessary that you have a good command of English.
What we can offer / planning
We pay € 52.50 per hour, free of VAT. A lecture day consists of 6 lecture hours of 60 minutes (3 more theoretical hours and 3 more practical hours). This means € 315, - per day. Rate includes all preparations, making and marking of day tests and (re) exams, oral administration, supervision and marking of assignments. There is also a € 0.19 allowance per km and a parking or public transport allowance.
The unit will start in full-time on Tuesday November 9 and will continue until Tuesday January 2022. So, 8 days, a total of € 2,520. Lecture times 9.00-16.20.
There will be a shorter version of this unit for our part-time students Thursday January 20 and 27 (so 2 days € 630, -), lecture times 13.30-20.50.
