    Omschrijving:
For our client in Amsterdam we are looking for a Linux Ops Engineer.

    Assignment: Contract to Perm (DETAVAST)

Our applications are used every day by millions of people worldwide. While we are busy continuously improving those apps, they also need to be available 24x7 and secured in a professional way. For this job we need Ops Engineers that are both technically skilled and communicative.

    Job description:
In your role as Ops Engineer you do whatever is necessary to ensure that your production applications are available to our customers (both internal and external). This means that you join the conversation already during development as a SME on security, performance and monitoring. You make a difference using incident resolution because of your technical knowhow, also because you keep improving your monitoring and alerting as if it were your second nature. Within your squad you make sure that your security mindset is shared among the Customer Journey Exports and Dev Engineers with whom you work very closely. Together with your Chapter colleagues you are always busy with working smarter and automating more.

    Profile:
We expect you have a solid technical background that enables you to think along during the complete software development lifecycle. You are reliable and you always take one hundred percent responsibility for the work that you do. You are precise and set high standards for yourself and your coworkers. Your analytical skills ensure that you solve problems quickly. You are a communicator that is seen as a go-to person for both business and IT.

    Skills required:
    - A bachelor degree (with IT in curriculum)
    - Experience with ITIL processes.
    - Thorough knowledge of Linux stacks (RedHat) including corresponding monitoring solutions.
    - Experience with databases (e.g. Oracle, Cassandra).
    - Experience with application server (e.g. Tomcat, WebSphere) en other middleware (e.g. XFB, TWSd, Messaging).
    - Experience with multiple testing techniques, especially in the fields of performance and resilience.
    - Experience with automating deployments and monitoring. For example using Nolio, Jenkins, Gitlab and the Elastic Stack.
    - Good understanding of network architecture (load balancers, proxies, firewalls, etc.).
    - Good understanding of API's and corresponding techniques (HTTPS, JSON).
    - Skilled in a minimum of one scripting language (Bash). You prefer scripting over repetitive work. Therefore you are skilled in a scripting language (i.e. Bash) or comfortable using Ansible (YAML)
    - You understand that supporting our 24x7 applications includes participating in (paid) standby shifts.

It would be great if you have:
    - Programming (development) experience; preferably using Java.
    - Certifications always speak in your favor. Think of RHCSA, RHCE and/or CISSP.
    - Preferably experience in complex application landscapes where you were a part of multiple application chains.

    Extra informatie:
Qualogy streeft ernaar om iedere kandidaat binnen 5 werkdagen een persoonlijke reactie te sturen.
Indien de klant een security screening vereist zijn de (eenmalige) kosten hiervan voor eigen rekening.
