For our client in Leeuwarden we are looking for a Software Engineer Mainframe / Testing with a passion for IT.
As an engineer you will be working in a squad of 7 persons in the IT Area. Within this Area work is being done in a DevOps manner. Scrum/Agile and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery practices are very important within our Area.

Job description:
Together with the squad you are responsible for the migration of Customer and CurrentAccount administration from COBOL / IBM mainframe to JAVA / Linux Environment.
A lot of the most important business processes are using the system that is in scope.

As a squad member of the squad you will be working on the complete testing cyclus. This means, creating the test(scripts), perform and maintain the test(scripts) and report the outcome. We want to execute the tests as automatically, as much as possible.
This team will focus on rebuilding high-speed/high volume services. These services will be called via MQ and written in JAVA.

Important part of your responsibility will be to create service tests in the new system.

Work environment:
DevOps teams are responsible for the development, delivery, operation and maintenance of applications, associated components and interfaces. A DevOps team consists of two roles: Development Engineer and Operations Engineer. Collectively, the DevOps team has full responsibility for the Development, Quality Assurance and Operations of their systems.

The squad operates according to the Scrum Agile development process and strongly believe in the DevOps approach to delivering successful IT solutions. Our focus is on a stable and secure replacement of the current mainframe-landscape

You have a good understanding of banking in general or you are passionate about learning it. You are able to discuss with your stakeholders and product owner about features and stories and can translate these into software with real business value.
You have a broad understanding of batches and services, have excellent analytical skills and are able to determine the impact of certain choices

MUST have:
- Excellent dutch speaking and reading (due to documentation)
- Experience in migration projects
- Experience in service testing
- Perfomance testing
- OC-A certicate
- JAVA testframework
- Experience writing test utilities using programming languages preferable Java, JavaScript
- Experience with automated test tools (ex. Loadrunner, Soap UI, Selenium, Protractor)
- Experience identifying gaps in test coverage

Nice to have:
- Knowledge about MQ
- Like to do reverse Engineering
- Cobol knowledge is a pre
- Experience in continuous testing environments
- Experience in Agile software development environments
- Experience or knowledge of SQL queries
- Foundation Certification in Software Testing (ISTQB and/or T-Map).
