For our client in Amsterdam we are looking for a (senior level) OPS engineer / infrastructure designer to strengthen its operations team. Your main focus:
- Creating a stable and secure Microfocus environment, and prepare the continuous integration/continuous deployment.
- Improving stability, performance and reliability of the applications on the windows platform.
- Life cycle management and maintenance of the platform.
- Provide 1rst and 2nd line support to ensure stability and continuity of the services.
- Managing the Operational Control Dashboard and other Risk activities of the applications.
- Deployment of software solutions in cooperation with Development engineers using TFS
- Maintaining Microfocus, Wintel (2012), MS SQL (2012) and continuous integration/continuous environments.
- Active Directory nesting and AD LDS knowledge
- Knowledge of DNS, least-privilege permissions and set-up + analysis of performance monitoring (on CPU/ disk I/O network and database level)
- Knowledge of Powershell scripting
- Knowledge of Microfocus and VisualCobol is a pré

In addition to managing software solutions, you will contribute to:
- Streamlining the end to end IT operation process.
- Optimization of the service stability and continuity.
- Advice and contribute to life cycle management activities

Work environment:
We have two focus areas: maintaining the Microfocus environment on the Wintel platform and the migration of the existing applications to OUR application (Profile). You will be part of one of the ProductEngines teams, delivering IT solutions and services for the department.
The teams operate according to a DevOps Agile development process. Intensive collaboration with business, other DevOps teams and infrastructure teams is day to day business. The focus is on high-quality secure-critical software delivered in time.
The key development technology used is Microfocus, Wintel and SQL server.

Profile:
- You love to deep dive technology, searching for root causes of issues and incidents.
- Experience with monitoring end/or debugging and/or performance tuning of applications.
- Good knowledge of implementation of security measures (knowledge of Operational Controls Dashboard is a preference).
- Good knowledge of relational databases (e.g. MS SQL Server) with the ability to apply it in the context of IT operations.
- Good knowledge of Operating System fundamentals with the ability to apply it in the context of IT operations.
- Able to learn fast any new technology
- Knowledge of Database technology is a preference.
- Flexible with respect to working pattern/ hours.
- Dutch and English communication skills, verbal as well as written.
- Knowledge of cloud solutions is a preference
- Your key competencies: excellent team player, persistent, service oriented, customer centric, eager to learn.
