General description:
Departments within the client request information and data from the operating units to enable senior management to take management action. The requested information could range from general financial information to sustainability and legal data. As the amount of requested information and data increase the workload for country units, a project has been launched to assess all data and information requests towards the country units on the relevance and use of that data. The client has committed to review all outgoing data requests to country units on a case by case basis, through an initiative called "rationalizing internal & external reporting”. It is the ambition of the client to rationalize the data requests wherever possible. Data requests that are not being done to steer decision making and do not have any regulatory/legal requirement should be stopped to reduce the burden on our Country Units and to increase efficiency throughout the company. To stimulate execution on this project, it is also Included in the targets.

Ervaring innen bank/insurance is gewenst. 4-5 jaar ervaring is gewenst.

About the project:
The project has a 3-stage approach. First, the data request owner needs to perform a self-assessment in which the data request owner clearly explains for what the data is being used and for which type of decision making and/or regulatory/legal requirements it is needed.
Second, the self-assessment needs to be challenged. A discussion with the data owner (or someone from that team) needs to take place to determine the quality of the self-assessment and to be able to give an recommendation to the third layer, which is the validation committee.
The validation committee consists out of three senior executives that are responsible for determining the relevance of the specific data request, and how the data is being used. The self-assessment including an advice will be provided to the validation committee as input for the discussion on what we need to do with a data request.

Functie

The client is currently looking for assistance on the assessment and challenging of the self-assessments of the data requests, and prepare the advice for the validation committee. Basically, the job will consist out of reviewing data requests, challenging the data owner on the necessity of the data request and the quality of the self-assessment. These activities should ultimately lead to a recommendation to the validation committee on what we need to do with the data request. Within this standardized approach there are four different recommendations that can be given: discard, rationalize, keep & improve and keep. The project needs to be finalized before year - end 2018.

Expected result
- Project needs to be finalized before year-end, with all self-assessments of the information & data requests being evaluated and brought to the Validation Committee, where a decision needs taken on what to do with the information requests.
Profiel

We are looking for a person with the following traits and qualities:
Clear demonstration of academic thinking level
Experience in the insurance industry is an advantage
Critical minded and being able to challenge different disciplines and levels within the organization
Ability to absorb large amounts of data while maintaining the overall picture
Ability to assess whether certain data is necessary in steering the business
Fluent in English
