For our client in Amsterdam we are looking for a DevOps Engineer (Cloud, Linux, Ansible, Python)

As a DevOps Engineer you will be working together with other colleagues in a squad and you will be responsible for the running and maintaining API Software Development Kit and API Endpoint Discovery.
In addition to being part of a squad, you will also contribute to:
• Streamlining the chapter’s development process from code check-ins, automated deployment and acceptance testing, all the way towards production in the public cloud
• Industrializing the chosen platforms for use by other squads.

Your work environment
The department’s main purpose is to: create, evolve and maintain shared services, components and frameworks for other tribes. Within this tribe, IT Product Owners together with the squads will be responsible for the development of block components which will be used by other squads. The squads are the home base for the squad members and we have squads based in The Netherlands and in Romania that work together on the same solutions. Hierarchically the members of squads are grouped under Chapters. Each chapter consists of members with the same expertise and this chapter is responsible for defining the roadmap for their expertise, setting the example, share the knowledge and educate other squad members. The Chapter you will be working for is responsible for Eventbus, API Software Development Kit and API Endpoint Discovery.

Tasks
• Investigate, understand and choose the right tool(s) for the job to be done and ensure that the squads are capable to use them
• Industrialize a data solution, so that it can be used seamlessly by the squads
• Continuously monitor and improve efficiency, quality and time-to-market through in-depth automation of building, testing and deployment
• Phasing-out data solutions that have reached the end of their life cycle

Skills required
• Professional and intellectual ability at bachelor level
• Strong conceptual understanding of the big picture is preferred
• Able to use a wide variety of open source technologies and tools
• Knowledge of multiple public cloud environments
• Knowledge of terraform
• Experience with deploying, running and monitoring a large scale application in a public cloud environment
• Platform engineering / Total stack experience is hugely beneficial (e.g. Linux, Ansible, Python, scripting, …)
• Experienced with Agile development & Scrum
• Version Management, GIT, Continuous Integration
• Knowledge of Java and Web API’s is beneficial
• Comfortable with collaboration and open communication
• Focused on delivering quality above quantity
• Knowledge of other databases is preferred
• Ability to adopt and test new features
• Knowledge sharing will be expected
• Excellent team player
• Passion for backend technology
• Attention to details
