For our client in Leeuwarden we are looking for an Ops Engineer (CD/Linux/Tibco/Java).


The IT Engineer has in-depth specialised expert knowledge in the delivery and maintenance of IT applications and services in order to realise the organisation s strategy in the field of information technology. Has specialised depth and breadth of expertise in several engineering languages and techniques, and the ability to determine the best fit depending on the situation. Has a holistic perspective to sufficiently determine priorities based on context, guiding peers through technical challenges. Has a focus of self-development, determining and enhancing the rules for coding as well as developing tutorials and training less senior level roles. Works within a multidisciplinary team or in an environment in which multidisciplinary teamwork is carried out.

You will be working in a multidisciplinary squad which has the responsibility for the 7*24 hour operational stability and availability of critical applications on the D-T-A-P environment. You will have a major role in maintaining tibco and java applications (deploying, maintaining, monitoring, life-cycle management, resilience, performance, availability) and developing extensive knowledge on the behaviour and dependencies of the applications.

Your main tasks will be
- Deploying and maintaining tibco (incl. EMS) and java applications;
- Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery;
- Capacity/Availability Monitoring experience
- You handle application risk controls in an efficient way, proactively contributing to prevent security and operational risks;
- You enforce that the right levels of Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability of the application are preserved;
- Able to work under pressure, willing to be on stand-by outside of office hours (rotating schedule);
- You ensure an efficient and effective handling of the ITIL processes within your team (incident -, configuration -, change management

- You will also be
- Maintaining the Operational Control Documentation;
- Maintaining the CMDB;
- Participating actively in the Scrum process and in Continuous Delivery Engineering Practices;
- Participating actively in a Chapter.

Knowledge of and experience
- Working according to the Agile/scrum methodology as well as with the DevOps method;
- At least 3 years of experience as Ops engineer is required;
- Experience with Continuous Delivery tooling (e.g. Maven, Nolio, Jenkins, GIT, Artifactory, Ansible, Docker, Azure);
- Experience with Chain Monitoring tools (capacity, availability) (Logstash, Kibana, Grafana);
- Knowledge of Apache/tomcat, Linux, Linux bash scripting, SQL, Shell scripting, Ansible playbooks;
- Knowledge of Java, Tibco, EMS, Kafka is a pro;
- Knowledge of ITIL (incidents, changes);
- You handle application risk controls in an efficient way, proactively contributing to prevent security and operational risks;

Competences
- Fluent in English, and preferably also in Dutch, both in speaking and in writing;
- Able to communicate in an open way, giving feedback, and helping your colleagues to improve in both technical and personal perspective;
- Completed a bachelor's or master's degree in a technical IT study or a comparable education;

The working location is Leeuwarden, but you must be prepared to incidentally travel to Amsterdam.
