The target audience
This unit is part of the MBO4 / BTEC 3 program. So, the target audience are students aged 17 to 22 with a vocational practical business focus. In 1.5 year, they will progress to HBO / University.
What the unit is about
Managers are vital to the running of any business; they shape and influence business through their leadership and managerial performance.
In this unit, students will examine how businesses adapt their approaches to management in response to challenges in the internal and external business environment. Students will gain an understanding of how the implementation of different leadership styles and theories can impact on the workplace. Depending on their roles and responsibilities, managers need to develop skill sets that enable them to work effectively in areas such as the management and motivation of people, financial resources, quality management, and the management of change. Students will investigate some of the issues that managers and leaders have to deal with in the workplace in making businesses more efficient and ensuring their survival and growth.
This unit will help students to progress to employment by considering a career working in supervision and management, and/or to vocational training. Additionally, students might move on to related higher education having developed a knowledge and understanding of management.

Who we're looking for
We are looking for a lecturer who can contribute the necessary practical experience to inspire our full-time students (aged 17 to 22).
In addition to dealing with the theory and supervising the students in making their assignment, it is also the intention that students practice having their first experience in conversations with their employees as a manager.
The unit is in English. It is therefore necessary that you have a good command of English.

What we can offer
We pay € 55.00 per hour, free of VAT. A lecture day consists of 6 lecture hours of 60 minutes (3 more theoretical hours and 3 more practical hours). This means € 330, - per day. Rate includes all preparations, making and marking of day tests and (re) exams, oral administration, supervision and marking of assignments. There is also a € 0.19 allowance per km and a parking or public transport allowance.

Planning and Location
The unit will start in full-time on Wednesday January 18, 2023, and will continue until Wednesday 8 February 2023. So, 4 days, a total of € 1.320, -, lecture times 09.00-16.20.
