We are looking for an experienced Java Developer with an affinity for Oracle ExaData for our client in Amsterdam.

We are looking for professionals who want to pioneer the frontiers of IT infrastructure cloud services. You are an energetic DevOps Engineer with a passion for application development, IT Infrastructure, positive can-do mind-set and a team player.

Job description:
You will part of a team which creates high quality Database as a Service (DBaaS) Cloud Services for our consumers worldwide. You will be creating services from an end to end perspective, and your specialty lies on design, develop, test and maintain of API’s to expand the functionalities of the DBaaS. The services will be used in a large corporate environment where focus is on user experience, quality of build and security. You will be part of a team where operations and development are equally important, and you will be playing an important role to keep the balance between these two. You will be actively driving the quality of the delivery of services, and taking every opportunity to automate and eliminate manual labor.

You have an understanding of building secure API’s, Micro Services, automating processes and automated testing. With your expertise you can contribute to the squad’s mission of delivering a DBaaS that is fully automated, easy to use and complies to the IT controls.

Your education and background:
- Professional and intellectual IT ability at university level - at least Bachelors degree
- Experience from working in high performing Agile IT teams
- Track record of successfully designing applications and automation of processes
- Certifications and/or proven proficiency in Java Development
- Excellent command of spoken and written English (and Dutch)

Competencies - Skills:
- Knowledge of OOP; Java; Spring Framework, Kafka,
- Knowledge of PL/SQL, Python, Jython and scripting languages
- Experience with automated testing
- Experience Continue Integration and Delivery Tooling, like Ansible, GitLab, Docker, Jenkins, Maven, Fortify etc.
- Knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager and emcli - preferred;
- Knowledge of vRealize Orchestrator & vRealize Automation - preferred;
- Working-level knowledge of Agile and DevOps practices
- Understanding of the Scrum methodology (e.g. backlog and spring planning, review and marketplace)
- Knowledge of Lean practices (e.g., waste identification, visual management)
