We are looking for a Product Owner (Kafka) with a drive to enable teams globally to speed up their software delivery.

You are responsible for the product development of capable services according to the needs of our engineers globally. To increase the speed and quality of the engineering journey you, as a Product Owner Kafka, solutions a high performing perfect data & event streaming pipeline. You create right product vision and establish execution of the roadmap via sprints in delivering the features with your squad of Dev and Ops engineers. In this you are the leading inspirer, initiator and creator on what is needed to be developed and value to be delivered. With your squad you daily aim at timeliness delivering of all the tools and processes which helps to accelerate the delivery of new software and features to our software engineers. Ultimately in the end you are responsible that squads globally can accelerate on IT delivery by developing, running and maintaining adequate Distributed Event tools.

This is what you will do:
You ensure with your squad a high predictability of delivery with a progressive plan. You prepare refinements of valuable backlog stories and prioritize these according to user needs and capacity in the sprint planning. Next to this you inform relevant stakeholders with up to date information. To achieve delivery you (let) resolve impediments by the right people on time. For the longer term you steer on right value creation by determining valuable and sustainable change needed for ING and your IT products. You are expected to initiate and define IT product direction and define perfect product solutions up front before the identified value, needs and problems arises. Thus, you set and share a clear vision on the product development and translates it to timely product solutions and highly predictable implementation moments. You pay attention to continuously changing reality and adapts and balance the work needed to be done for product development that has the most (business) value. Further on you deal with insights and (organizational) forces around the product that needs to be managed with the stakeholders (Tribe MT, User Group, Business representatives).

Profile:
- A Master degree in Information Technology and proficient experience in Distributed (Event) Systems, and a modern programming language like Java.
- A certified Product Owner with 3 years working experience in the PO craftsmanship within a large scaled Agile organization, with multiple Agile scrum DevOps teams, and well recognized multiple achievements in delivery of value IT4IT epics.
- Thorough experience in implementing and maintaining Event/data streaming pipelines like Kafka.
- Excellent knowledge of Continuous Delivery and integration processes.
- A progressive look with which you invent valuable features that contribute to speed up software delivering capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and in writing) and storytelling capability.
- A team player with ‘we-mentality’ and strong organizational and problem (impediment) solving skills.
- Result and delivery oriented mentality. You take it on and make it happen. You are recognized in right value output against good quality and planning, purpose and epic creation, dependency management, precise backlog management and broad stakeholder management.
- Salesman, that sells the products to maximise business value against acceptable exploitation costs.
- Eye for customer journey, customer needs and outside market developments.
- Prove that you are constantly improving and sharing your IT knowledge (books, tutorials, weblogs, presentations at congresses).
- Legal and risk awareness.
